以4-(3-苯甲酰基硫脲基)苯甲酸(7)(10.0 mmol)為原料,與10%氫氧化鈉溶液(10.0 mmol)在20 mL水中混合。將反應混合物加熱回流30分鐘。反應完成后,冷卻至室溫,用鹽酸中和。過濾收集生成的固體產物,用水洗滌,干燥后從丁醇中重結晶,得到白色粉末狀(4-羧苯基)硫脲,產率93%。產物表征數據如下:熔點>300℃;紅外光譜(KBr, cm-1)νmax 3440, 3339, 3279, 3170, 1684, 1291;核磁共振氫譜(300 MHz, DMSO-d6)δ 12.72(1H, br s, COOH), 9.96(1H, s, NH), 7.54-7.90(4H, m, ArH), 3.37(1H, s, NH2);質譜(EI, 70 eV)m/z 196(10), 179(98), 162(98), 134(75), 120(95), 92(35);元素分析計算值(C8H8N2O2S, 196.23):C, 48.97; H, 4.11; N, 14.28;實測值:C, 48.84; H, 4.07; N, 14.24。
