The general procedure for the synthesis of 6-nitroindolin-2-one from the compound (CAS:185433-47-0) is as follows: dissolve Z 3 (5.30 g, 10 mmol) in a mixed solvent of methanol (10 mL) and 2N sodium hydroxide solution (10 mL), and the reaction was stirred at 80 °C for 30 min. Upon completion of the reaction, the reaction mixture was acidified to acidity with 1N hydrochloric acid and precipitate was precipitated. The precipitate was collected by filtration and the precipitate was stirred in boiling acetic acid (10 mL) for 1 hour. Subsequently, the mixture was cooled to room temperature and the precipitate was isolated by filtration and washed with distilled water. The final product, 6-nitroindolin-2-one, was obtained in a yield of 2.18 g in 68%. | [References]
