Using 2,2-dibromo-1-methylcyclopropanecarbonitrile in place of 2,2-dichloro-1-methylcyclopropanecarbonitrile, the same procedure gave 1-methylcyclopropanecarbonitrile in a yield of 95.7% and a purity of & gt; 95%.
