CBX6. like other Chromobox proteins (CBX2. 4. 6. 7. 8), contributes to PRC1’s role in epigenetic regulation, cell differentiation, and development by binding to trimethylated histone H3 lysine 27 (H3K27me3), a mark deposited by Polycomb Repressive Complex 2 (PRC2). This interaction facilitates chromatin compaction and transcriptional repression.

CBX6 antibodies are widely utilized in research to investigate PRC1-mediated gene regulation in stem cell pluripotency, tissue development, and cancer.
