CPF-7 (Caerulein precursor fragment) is an insulin releasing peptide, a straight chain polypeptide composed of 26 amino acids that can stimulate insulin release. CPF-7 can induce epithelial mesenchymal transition by upregulating the expression of Snai1 in PANC-1 ductal cells. CPF-7 can also induce exocrine plasticity by upregulating the expression of Ngn3. CPF-7 can be used in the study of type 2 diabetes.
