paint, wood coatings.
Product Introduction:
HEMINGS? PL-R is a synthetic layered silicate that is insoluble in water but can hydrateand expand in water to form colorless and transparent colloids. Its primary particles are negatively charged on the front and positively charged on the side. When the dispersed primary particles are close to each other, due to the charge repulsion, a "card house" structure is formed, in which aluminum powder particles are suspended and stabilized
in a three-dimensional gel. effectively reducing the mobility of aluminum powder particles, thus helping aluminum powder particles to better orient.
Product Applications:
Specially used in water-based automotive OEM/refinish paint, water-based metal paint directional arrangement, water-based aluminum silver paste arrangement. It can also be used in water-based formulations to endow sensitive colloidal structures with viscosity shear thinning, including home care and industrial surface coatings,
water-based wood coatings, household cleaners, petroleum drilling, ceramic glazes, agricultural chemicals, etc.

For water-based wood coating:

Usage Instructions:
HEMINGS? PL-R needs to be mixed with water-based systems or water under high shear conditions. Typically, HEMINGS? PL-R is added to the system before other components, followed by dispersion or grinding. Afterward, the remaining components can be added. Alternatively, HEMINGS? PL-R can be prepared into a pre-gel and then added. When using softened water, its viscosity gradually increases within 24 hours. In hard water, its viscosity increases rapidly, and using warm water is more beneficial for dispersion.Compared to pure water systems, systems with water and solvents have higher viscosity. As the amount of organic solvent increases, the system's transparency and stability decrease. HEMINGS? PL-R pre-gels are stable under neutral and alkaline conditions. To achieve the best results, the pH value should be between 5.5 and 13.
Levels of use:
Typical addition levels are 0.5-2.5% HEMINGS? PL-R additive by weight of total formulation, depending upon the degree of suspension, the rheological properties or viscosity required.
Storage:
HEMINGS? PL-R is hygroscopic and should be stored under dry conditions.
