Biological Activity
NQO2 (NRH:quinone oxidoreductase 2) is responsible for the two-electron reduction of quinone substrates, using dihydronicotinamide riboside (NRH) as a reducing coenzyme. It is also a target of the antimalarial drugs, primaquine and chloroquine. NQO2 is suggested to be associated with Alzheimerμs disease (AD). It is up-regulated in the hippocampus of humans suffering from AD.
