Hazard Information | Back Directory | [Synthesis]
Sulfoxide chloride (8.8 g, 75.1 mmol) was slowly added dropwise to methanol (50 mL) at 0 °C, followed by a one-time addition of 1-aminocyclopropanecarboxylic acid (5.0 g, 49.8 mmol). The reaction mixture was heated to reflux for 1 to 3 hours. Upon completion of the reaction, the solvent was removed by concentration under reduced pressure to afford methyl 1-aminocyclopropanecarboxylate hydrochloride (5.8 g, 100% yield). | [References]
