Hydroxyacetic Acid Hydrazide (cas# 3530-14-1) is a compound useful in organic synthesis. | [Synthesis]
A. Synthesis of 2-hydroxyacetylhydrazine. Ethyl 2-hydroxyacetate (1.00 g, 9.60 mmol), hydrazine (0.324 mg, 10.1 mmol) and ethanol (20 mL) were mixed in a reaction vial, heated to 85 °C and kept for 3 hours. After completion of the reaction, the reaction mixture was concentrated to afford the target compound 2-hydroxyacetylhydrazine (0.702 g, 81% yield). The product was analyzed by mass spectrometry (ESI) and showed m/z 91.1 [M + 1]+. | [References]
