Hazard Information | Back Directory | [Synthesis]
(1) 2-Nitroresorcinol (1.00 g, 6.45 mmol) was dissolved in ethanol (10 mL). 10% Pd/C catalyst (340 mg, 0.32 mmol) was added to the solution at room temperature and under hydrogen atmosphere and the reaction was stirred for 6 hours. Upon completion of the reaction, the insoluble material was removed by filtration and the solvent was subsequently removed by distillation under reduced pressure to afford the brown crystalline product 2-aminoresorcinol 779 mg in 97% yield. Melting point: 153-155 °C (decomposition).1H NMR (CD3OD/CDCl3 = 1/20, 400 MHz) δ: 6.37 (2H, d, J = 8 Hz), 6.54 (1H, t, J = 8 Hz). | [References]
