Under stirring conditions, 1.25 kg of phenyldimethylchlorosilane was added to the reactor and the reaction was maintained at room temperature for 1 hour. Subsequently, 1.12 kg of potassium trimethylsilanolate dissolved in 2 L of anhydrous tetrahydrofuran was slowly added dropwise and the reaction was continued for 1 hour at room temperature. Upon completion of the reaction, filtration was carried out to remove insoluble material. The filtrate was concentrated and extracted with ether to collect the organic phase. The organic phase was dried and concentrated again to finally obtain 1,1,1,3,3-pentamethyl-3-phenyl disiloxane with a purity greater than 98% in a yield of 2.02 kg.
