Under nitrogen protection, 14 g (100 mmol) of 3,4-difluorostyrene was dissolved in tetrahydrofuran. A 30% hydrogen peroxide solution (300 mmol) was slowly added dropwise at 20 °C, keeping the reaction temperature constant with continuous stirring for 4 hours. After completion of the reaction, water was added to the reaction mixture for stratification. The organic layer was separated and washed with appropriate amount of water. Subsequently, the organic layer was concentrated under reduced pressure and finally purified by column chromatography to afford 7.3 g of 2-(3,4-difluorophenyl)oxirane in 46.7% yield and 19.43% enantiomeric excess (ee) value. | [References]
